Walnut Street Pedestrian Bridge is the worlds largest. It connects downtown Chattanooga to the Northshore. It was to be demolished in 1980; however envisions helped save and restore it. It opened in 1993 connecting the Riverfront Renaissance to the exciting North Shore, with Tennessee Aquarium, Hunter Museum of Art, and Tennessee River Walk. Originally assembled in 1889 by the Smith Bridge Company of Toledo Ohio.
